Only in your browser, on your device (IndexedDB). Nothing is uploaded, and there are no accounts. Clearing site data or removing the extension deletes them, so use Projects → Export to keep a backup file.

Chrome and Edge, version 116 or later. The editor uses WebCodecs to decode and encode video, which Safari and Firefox do not fully support yet.

Install the Chrome extension, click its toolbar icon and choose Record this tab (or press Alt+Shift+R). Tab sound is included, and recording continues after the popup closes. Stop from the icon, and the recording opens in the editor. On the website, use the Record panel in the editor (screen, window or tab, plus camera and microphone).

Click the extension icon and choose Screenshot: full page. The page scrolls briefly while it is captured, then the image opens in the editor.

Captions are generated on your device by a small speech model, so speed depends on your computer. Pick the spoken language instead of Auto-detect, use clear audio, and fix any word by double-clicking its caption. Noise reduction in the audio settings can help.

Exports run on your computer. Close heavy tabs, pause the preview while exporting, and try a smaller size for long videos. You can keep editing while an export runs: it uses a snapshot of your project. If it still fails, send us the video length, size and the browser version.

Update to the latest version, which fixes this for clips that begin slightly after 0:00. If you still see it, tell us on GitHub with the clip type.

It is free and exports have no watermark.

The Chrome extension works fully offline. The website needs a connection the first time it loads the caption and background-removal models, then caches them.

Use Projects to delete projects, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
