Privacy policy

Video Editor processes everything on your device.

• Your videos, images, audio and projects are never uploaded, sent to a server, or shared with anyone.
• The extension and website make no network requests for your content and contain no analytics, trackers or advertising. The speech model used for auto captions and the background-removal model run on your device; your audio and video are never sent anywhere.
• Screen, tab, camera and microphone are only used when you press Record, and the recording stays on your device.
• Imported media and your projects are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) so your work survives a restart. Delete projects in the app, clear site data, or remove the extension to erase them.
• Saved brand colours, font and logo stay in this browser only.

Chrome extension permissions

• unlimitedStorage: keeps large videos and your project on your device.
• activeTab: lets the toolbar popup capture the tab you are looking at, only when you click it.
• tabCapture: records the video and sound of that tab when you press Record this tab.
• offscreen: keeps that recording running after the popup closes (a hidden page inside the extension).
• scripting: scrolls the tab to take a full-page screenshot, then puts the page back.
• storage: remembers whether a tab recording is in progress.
• No host permissions: the extension cannot read or change websites on its own. Tab recordings and screenshots are saved on your device and opened in the editor.

Website hosting

The website is a static site. Your hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and page requested) to deliver the site; the editor itself sends nothing about your projects or media.
